Unterwegs am Pöstlingberg

At the beginning of the 19th century Archduke Maximilian D'Este gave orders to build a fortification around the city of Linz.
This stronghold was disused a few years after its completion without facing any battles.
In later years, a part of the construction got a whole different honour. The fort on top of the Pöstlingberg which surrounds a basilica, got reduxed and accommodates two of Upper Austrias biggest tourist attractions. The mountain station of the world's most precipitous adhesions railway the Pöstlingbergbahn and the enchanting fairy tale world of the Grottenbahn.
This documentary takes a close look at the history of the Pöstlingberg and sheds new light at the Grottenbahn, which celebrated its 100th birthday in 2006.
